I was almost an art major in college, but became more interested in personal art preferences (why someone liked/disliked a work of art), so I switched to psychology. Funny, I never really got that question answered. However, while viewing an artist exhibit in Stockholm, Sweden in December of 1981, I became interested in breaking the rules of classical design – namely, creating tangents with the sides and corners of the page/frame. Since that time, my interests have grown. I like organic objects as inspiration, especially tree bark and trunks for creating abstract expressionist paintings and drawings.
