I have a keen interest in what makes something visually stimulating; what makes it interesting enough to observe for an extended time.

Beauty is not synonymous with captivation. What our eyes are drawn to is rarely associated with classic beauty. I believe contemporary minimalism should reflect that.

Throughout history, painting has provided a record of our daily emotions; these visceral reactions are captured in the arts. I hope to continue this historical dialogue through the uses of contrast, texture, depth and structure contortion.
