Artists in Action – June 2026

Our concentration of 100 artists at the Hot Shops has forged a truly unique arts organization, and the work they do enhances the vibrant arts community in Greater Omaha. Check out the impact some of our resident artists have been making recently!

Omaha Art Fair

We are proud to have had so many artists represent our local arts community at the 2026 Omaha Art Fair. Artists Lynne Kvigne, George Garrett III, Mell Smith and Greg Macdonald showed their work independently. Artist Vickie Hughes showed in both the Passageway Gallery and Hot Shops booths.

Artists at the Hot Shops booth both sold their work and provided demonstrations throughout the Art Fair. This included:

Carmen Lara, Shawnequa Linder, Rose Rutherford, Vickie Hughes, Kim Maher, Samuel Logeman, John Haidley, Jazmine Martinez-Gonzalez, Lanna Cahill, Will Moffitt, and Matthew Shrader.

Many artists were affected by an unexpected windstorm on the morning of June 13th, with much of their inventory damaged or destroyed. An artist relief GoFundMe has been set up to help offset the cost of losses for artists affected by storm damage. This fundraising campaign is for all artists involved in the Omaha Art Fair who suffered losses, including some Hot Shops resident artists.
