THE WORK
Very inspired by color, Jill uses expressive marks and patterns to create a visual escape with each and every view. Her subjects often involve animals and landscapes.
Examples of some of her imagery and their meanings are:
Flaming hearts = love, loss, direction, power, joy and more.
Owls = Inner wisdom, change and self-actualization.
Deserts = Clarity, revelation, quiet
Cactus = Endurance, courage, power, survival
Rabbits = Creativity, possibility, new beginnings
THE ARTIST
Jill was formally schooled at St. Olaf College: Northfield, MN, MCAD: Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and finished her BFA at Creighton University with a major in Printmaking and Painting. She also holds minors in Art History, Design and Philosophy.
Jill’s work has been shown at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, RBR Gallery, 13th Street Gallery, Avenue Gallery, Dundee Gallery, Heller Art, Jackson Artworks, Creighton University, RNG Gallery, Omaha Public Library, SPLIT and more.
