I entered into the artistic world in 2020 when I (re)discovered pyrography. This is a hobby I enjoyed growing up, but never explored completely. During the pandemic, it became an outlet for me to make sense of the world. It became a meditative practice that I found myself reaching for to find some footing and to process and express my inner landscape.
Eventually, I began playing around with other modalities, and have grown to love acrylic painting and mixed media. I enjoy creating pieces with varying textures to create dimension and feeling, and using unconventional materials to craft something truly unique. While much of my work is abstract, it is often inspired by nature, depicting mountains and trees, which ties back into the need for grounding that I seek through the creative process. Additional themes I find myself leaning into are: duality of light/dark, surrender, discovery, and owning your power. Beyond the Hot Shops walls, I own a yoga studio in Papillion, and also enjoy gravel cycling and trail running. I love spending time at the local trails with my husband, our two kiddos, and two canine companions. Thanks for taking a look. Enjoy!
