In this class, we will explore several different lids styles and the kinds of pottery forms with which each style works best. The student will learn measuring and trimming techniques that will ensure proper fit and aesthetics as well as glazing pointers to prevent the lids from being permanently fused to the pot it sits atop. Cap lids, inset lids and lids derived from closed forms will all be covered. All firings, glazes and 25 pounds of clay are included.
PREREQUISITE: Students must be able to adequately center clay and form various pottery shapes and sizes on the wheel.
It is RECOMMENDED that the student acquire a caliper tool (preferably two) suitable for measuring openings in pottery forms.$200 [4 Classes]
