4-week class with Rob Johnson
Saturdays, August 2, 9, 16, 23
12:30-3:00 PM
In this class, we will explore several different lids styles and the kinds of pottery forms with which each style works best. The student will learn measuring and trimming techniques that will ensure proper fit and aesthetics as well as glazing pointers to prevent the lids from being permanently fused to the pot it sits atop. Cap lids, inset lids and lids derived from closed forms will all be covered. This is an essential class for all who are interested in a future teapot class. All firings, glazes and 25 pounds of clay are included.
It is RECOMMENDED that the student acquire a caliper tool (preferably two) suitable for measuring openings in pottery forms.
$200
Minimum of 5 students for the class to be held.
