4-Week Introduction to Ceramic Sculpture with Takemi Tsuruta. Tuesdays, starting Oct. 1, 6-8:30 p.m.
This class is designed for the beginner in clay and teaches the basic skills and techniques to create dynamic ceramic sculptures. Students will have the freedom to create their own narratives in clay while learning building techniques and surface design. Glazing options will be covered and demos will include traditional and non-traditional processes.
“I’m Takemi Tsuruta, an artist in Omaha, Nebraska. Crafting pots is my passion, reflecting my life’s journey and interests. Drawing from my Japanese American background and fervor for food and culture, my current creations are a blend of heritage and personal expression.”
All firings, glazes, and 25lbs of clay are included. Beginning tools are provided for the duration of the class. All students will need to bring an old towel to use during class.
In addition to class time, participants can schedule extra work time in the studio.
