SOLD OUT: Painting: oils and cold wax + creativity boost

Explore painting and bolster creativity in fall class.

Take a deeper dive into your own creativity while exploring color, texture and other elements of art during a 6-week session this fall. We’ll focus on painting with oils and cold wax, which offers a wide range of possibilities for expression and creative play. You’ll learn about tools, materials and new ways to use them. You’ll work with oil paints and cold wax medium on both archival paper and on panels.

In addition to painting, we’ll think broadly about creativity as we use a journal or sketchbook to support our efforts.

This class combines in-class demonstrations, self-directed work with instructor input, and guidance on exercises to complete on your own, all designed to strengthen your artistic practices. This class is open to anyone from relative novices to experienced artists investigating new materials and techniques. You’ll use your own materials supplemented by supplies and tools available in my studio.

Fee: $300 + materials

If you’re a Hot Shops member, please let me know so I can apply the discount. I’ll send you a list of recommended materials and will let you know what you can expect to use from the studio.

Deposit: $150 due by Aug. 29, 2023 to reserve your spot. Second payment due on first day of class. You may pay deposit via PayPal or Venmo, or I can send you a Square invoice for card payment. Second payment may be made with cash, card, Venmo or PayPal.

Cancellation policy: Deposit minus $25 administrative fee will be refunded when cancellation is made by Sept. 5, 2023. A $50 administrative fee will be deducted from deposit if cancellation is made after Sept. 5. Missed classes will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
