Utilizing unexpected vantage points I aim to encourage individual exploration, receptivity, and the influence of our internal narratives on those around us. To this end, I begin my paintings from unexpected birds'-eye vantage points creating a unique "visual tension”. My hope is to encourage novel ways of thinking, including understanding of diverse opinions and perspectives. These themes of open-mindedness, connection, and exploration encourage the development of trust, empathy, and creation of optimism.

The physical act of painting from this vantage point on all sizes of paper and canvas challenges me to examine my biases and inclinations.
